my background & specialties
My Background
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and have been working in mental health with kids, teens and families for over a decade. I received my Master’s degree from NYU. I’ve worked in various school- and community-based settings offering clinical services to patients as young as age 5 and up through early adulthood. Among these is the Child Mind Institute in New York where I trained and practiced on their school-based clinical team. From there, I moved into telehealth working as a therapist, clinical supervisor and clinical trainer. My clinical background is rooted in evidence-based practices, including CBT and DBT. I pull from these and other modalities to best serve the unique needs of each individual. In my current practice, I offer in person sessions out of my Inner Sunset office and virtual appointments for all of California.
Individual Therapy
While I have experience with a wide range of symptom presentations, I am especially skilled in supporting young people through anxiety, trauma and grief. If you are a teen or young adult who is feelings overwhelmed by things you’re experiencing, you don’t have to navigate that alone. Whether you’ve experienced a recent loss or trauma, or you find yourself overwhelmed by day to day life, or you feel stuck and not yourself - there are things we can try that we know often help.
If you are a parent worried about your young child or teen, you don’t have to navigate that alone either. In addition to working with your child on increasing their ability to manage symptoms and feelings, I will work with you to be sure you feel confident supporting your child. You are a key ingredient to your child’s sustainable progress.
Parent Coaching
Are you struggling to manage your child’s big behaviors? Are you navigating frequent tantrums or meltdowns? Feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to help your child through their big feelings and behaviors? You are not alone! Especially with kids under 10 years old, the best place to start is often with parent coaching. We will explore ways to implement structure and strategies that support your child’s regulation while also strengthening the parent-child bond.
Co-Parenting Counseling
A natural extension of my work with parents in the context of their child’s treatment, I also offer co-parenting counseling. This is for divorced, separated or never-partnered parents looking to develop a more effective and cooperative co-parenting relationship. Wherever you are in your co-parenting journey, this is a space to explore challenges and reach alignment on difficult parenting issues, always centering the wellbeing of your kid(s).
